Antique Dugan Blue Uranium Frit Textured Art Glass Pinched Rose Bowl Vase in fair preowned condition. Made by the Dugan Glass Company, which operated under that name from about 1904 to 1913 in Indiana, PA. The textured surface is created by rolling the hot, mold-blown glass in powdered or crushed glass, known as "frit," before it is shaped. The frit creates a rough, spatter, or ribbed texture on the surface, sometimes described as "stippled". The specks of uranium glass in the frit is what glows, under a uv light, on this piece. This rose bowl stands approximately 4 inches tall with a diameter of 4 inches. There is a small CHIP in the lip and this piece has a rough texture around the base.
